{"id":966,"date":"2012-05-03T10:41:21","date_gmt":"2012-05-03T14:41:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/?p=966"},"modified":"2025-08-24T06:38:57","modified_gmt":"2025-08-24T10:38:57","slug":"are-you-qualified-for-public-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/index.php\/are-you-qualified-for-public-office\/","title":{"rendered":"Are You Qualified for Public Office?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is a national election year. \u00a0While on the state and local level many will be elected, it is also the year that we elect a President, a new House of Representatives and about 1\/3 of the Senate. \u00a0At the state and federal level, there are qualifications identified for the various offices that are open for election. \u00a0While those qualifications may mean age, a degree, citizenship, et. al. &#8211; there is one area, not documented, that may disqualify you from holding elected office.<\/p>\n<p>I have been teasing many of my clients recently about this disqualification that is now apparent in their life. \u00a0Because of their financial success, they have disqualified themselves from public office.<\/p>\n<p>What is this disqualification? \u00a0The simple fact that they built and execute to a balanced budget! \u00a0Yes, a balanced budget! \u00a0In many of these clients, not only did they build and execute to the balanced budget \u00a0but they successfully lived within their means and came in at or under their plan. \u00a0What a victory!<\/p>\n<p>How unfortunate that our politicians, our elected officials, have the inability to balance the budget for our country. \u00a0It is hard, I know, and it is even harder when one would have to cut expenses and possibly lose some votes!<\/p>\n<p>Responsibility. \u00a0Execution. \u00a0Discipline.
