{"id":756,"date":"2011-07-22T10:01:06","date_gmt":"2011-07-22T14:01:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/?p=756"},"modified":"2025-08-24T06:39:03","modified_gmt":"2025-08-24T10:39:03","slug":"tough-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/index.php\/tough-summer\/","title":{"rendered":"Tough Summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have taken a little bit of a break over the past few weeks from writing, but now it is time to get back into it. \u00a0It has been a tough summer. \u00a0Yes, it is hot and the dog days are here, but I am talking about things in my family.<\/p>\n<p>This tough summer has been tough beacuse of all that has been happening. \u00a0In the last few weeks, my wife and I have had one daughter graduate college, one daughter gradute high school, and the same college graduate daughter get married. \u00a0All of that in just a few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, my time for writing has been scaled back. \u00a0Now it is time to get back in the saddle.<\/p>\n<p>As for the college graduate, she is doing fine. \u00a0She has been hired by the local school district and will be a fourth grade teacher when school starts in a few weeks. \u00a0Ironically, she will be working at the same elementary school she started school in sixteen years ago when we moved here.<\/p>\n<p>As for the high school graduate, she will be attending college here in a few weeks. \u00a0She will be building on her music skills in pursuit of a music degree.<\/p>\n<p>And the bride, well it is all done. \u00a0They are married and settling into their new home. \u00a0One thing I do not worry about with them is their finances. \u00a0They have a sound direction on how to manage their money.<\/p>\n<p>So, while I thought the rest of summer would be easy, now my wife and I have to see where we can start cutting the budget&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have taken a little bit of a break over the past few weeks from writing, but now it is time to get back into it. \u00a0It has been a tough summer. \u00a0Yes, it is hot and the dog days are here, but I am talking about things in my family.
