{"id":2018,"date":"2015-04-24T13:18:04","date_gmt":"2015-04-24T17:18:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/?p=2018"},"modified":"2025-08-24T06:38:41","modified_gmt":"2025-08-24T10:38:41","slug":"tax-freedom-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/index.php\/tax-freedom-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Tax Freedom Day!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today is the day! \u00a0April 24, 2015 &#8211; the day we proclaim freedom from taxes. \u00a0Well, not quite that but it is the day on which we claim the typical American has worked to pay for all the taxes they owe and the rest of the year&#8217;s earned money is all for \u00a0the one who earned it.<\/p>\n<p>Wikipedia defines this day as, &#8221;\u00a0the first day of the year in which a nation\u00a0as a whole has theoretically earned enough income to pay its taxes.<\/p>\n<p>Look at that, the end of April. \u00a0I can remember when it was much earlier than this, but here we are today! In 1900 it was reported to have been on January 22nd!<\/p>\n<p>CNS News reported that Americans will pay a total tax bill, federal, state and local taxes that total around $4.85 trillion in taxes or 31% of the national income. \u00a0They went on to report that this year, 2015, is the longest year when we work for 43 days before freedom day.<\/p>\n<p>Almost on third of your work goes to paying taxes this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is it time for a change?
