Most everyone is counting down to Christmas Day and it will be here before you know it. \u00a0But as you begin to celebrate this wonderful holiday, do not forget that a new year is right on the door step. \u00a0Now is the time to be thinking forward and preparing for what you plan to accomplish in your 2015 goals. If you do not lay out a plan, the new year you have been given will be well on its way and valuable time will have been lost.<\/p>\n

Now is a great time to reassess what you accomplished this year. \u00a0Did you meet the goals you set for yourself and your family? \u00a0If not, what prevented you and what can you do better this next year to check them off your list?<\/p>\n

Studies have shown that nearly 25% “resolutions” are abandoned within the first seven days of being “made”. \u00a0Almost 60% are then tossed out, resolutions that is, within six months. \u00a0Why? \u00a0Because resolving to do something is not a steady, focused, intentional approach to accomplish something personal, financial, spiritual, physical, and on and on.<\/p>\n

The dictionary defines “resolution” as “a firm decision to do or not to do something:”. \u00a0That same dictionary defines a “goal” as “the object of a person’s ambition or effort; an aim or desired result: the destination of a journey: literary\u00a0a point marking the end of a race”. \u00a0Clearly there is a differennce and there is a difference in accomplishment.<\/p>\n

There are things you can do to make sure you succeed.<\/span><\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Make sure you set GOALS – not resolutions<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Make sure your GOALS are S.M.A.R.T. goals<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Break your goals down into manageable chunks<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Share your GOALS with those around you who will help hold you accountable<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Celebrate your successful completion of each GOAL<\/strong>!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Set true, meaningful goals that you can accomplish and look back on with an attitude of accomplishment.<\/p>\n

    2015 is just around the corner. \u00a0Will you be prepared for the goals you will accomplish in the new year?<\/p>\n
