{"id":195,"date":"2010-04-29T14:41:21","date_gmt":"2010-04-29T14:41:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/?p=195"},"modified":"2025-08-24T06:39:15","modified_gmt":"2025-08-24T10:39:15","slug":"thanks-for-the-wakeup-call","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/index.php\/thanks-for-the-wakeup-call\/","title":{"rendered":"Thanks for the Wakeup Call"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This morning I did something good. \u00a0As my wife came in the kitchen, I asked her if I could make her the same wondeful money saving breakfast that I was having. \u00a0She tried, politely, to say she appreciated the offer and then kindly pointed out why she was turning down the offer.<\/p>\n<p>She went on to inform me that my money saving, delicious breakfast had 200 calories in the meat portion alone. \u00a0Wow, what a wakeup call. \u00a0She did not get on me for my desire to partake in the fine breakfast, but just pointed out for her that it was not in her plans of watching what she was eating.<\/p>\n<p>You see, this year we both set goals to eat healthy, lose weight and get in better shape. \u00a0Honestly, she has done a very good job and, as her comment this morning indicates, continues to do so.<\/p>\n<p>However, where am I according to my plan? \u00a0To be honest, not like I would like. \u00a0Yes, everything in the world has got in the way of my plan, but I let those things get in the way.<\/p>\n<p>My question to you is &#8211; how are you progressing to your plans and goals for this year? \u00a0Are you on track or have you let things get in the way? \u00a0Did you know tomorrow marks the end of the first one third of this year?<\/p>\n<p>Is today the day to review what you had planned, where you are and, maybe, taking steps to get back on track. \u00a0No more home-made breakfast sandwiches for me&#8230;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This morning I did something good. \u00a0As my wife came in the kitchen, I asked her if I could make her the same wondeful money saving breakfast that I was having. \u00a0She tried, politely, to say she appreciated the offer and then kindly pointed out why she was turning down the offer.
