{"id":1689,"date":"2014-03-07T11:50:39","date_gmt":"2014-03-07T16:50:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/?p=1689"},"modified":"2025-08-24T06:38:45","modified_gmt":"2025-08-24T10:38:45","slug":"frightening-car-buying-statistics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/index.php\/frightening-car-buying-statistics\/","title":{"rendered":"Frightening Car Buying Statistics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently I read three articles (Wall Street Journal, cnbc.com, and USA Today) about car loan statistics and I learned that the average car payment is now $460. \u00a0The good news is that the average is down from $465.<\/p>\n<p>It was reported that, according to Experian, almost one fifth of all car loans have a payment period of 73 to 84 months AND<strong> some are approaching 97 months<\/strong>!!\u00a0One quote from a finance company was very telling- many are trying to &#8220;keep a payment at $300 a month when a car is now $28,000.&#8221; In other words, they are painting a picture of the new car buyer trying to buy the luxury vehicle on the\u00a0compact\u00a0car payment plan. \u00a0The bad news is understanding what that payment could be doing to vs. for you.<\/p>\n<p>Again, what can your money being doing for you?<\/p>\n<p>Use some of the internet tools that allow you to see what your money could be doing for you. \u00a0I could throw some numbers at you, but there is nothing like putting your own numbers in and actually seeing what those projections look like &#8211; if you were not living on a payment plan.<\/p>\n<p>How is your plan working?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/signature-firstname.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-766\" alt=\"signature\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/signature-firstname.jpg\" width=\"92\" height=\"64\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/signature-firstname.jpg 92w, https:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/signature-firstname-160x110.jpg 160w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 92px) 100vw, 92px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently I read three articles (Wall Street Journal, cnbc.com, and USA Today) about car loan statistics and I learned that the average car payment is now $460. \u00a0The good news is that the average is down from $465.
