It is in this window, the 3-4 hours of the Super Bowl and all the festivities, that someone is trying to get your money from you.<\/p>\n<p>They already know that Monday morning you will get up and go chase another dollar. \u00a0While they know that, they are willing to invest millions of dollars in advertising to sway you to their product or service.<\/p>\n<p>Why is it that we fast-forward through all the TV ads EVERY day of the year except during halftime of the Super Bowl. \u00a0What do they know about us that we do not know about ourselves?<\/p>\n<p>I just read an article in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Business Week<\/span> that shows some interesting information on the Super Bowl advertising.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0The $1,000,000 mark per ad was exceeded in 1995<\/li>\n<li>The cost was $1,600,000 in 1999<\/li>\n<li>The price has increased 150% since 1999<\/li>\n<li>This year the estimated price is $4,000,000 for a 30-second spot<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can read that article <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/articles\/2014-01-20\/super-bowl-ad-insanity-explained-in-six-charts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>\u00a0to get much more information.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, they are trying to get your money. \u00a0Remember that principle of the &#8220;opportunity cost&#8221;. \u00a0That dollar, your dollar, can only be used at one place.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, do not look for any Financial Focus ads Super Bowl night.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do the Super Bowl ads affect your spending?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is time. \u00a0The two final teams have won themselves to a spot in the Super Bowl! \u00a0In just days we will see who has the best team in the NFL or, really, who has the best and most expensive commercial.
