{"id":1491,"date":"2013-09-30T10:46:14","date_gmt":"2013-09-30T14:46:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/?p=1491"},"modified":"2025-08-24T06:38:48","modified_gmt":"2025-08-24T10:38:48","slug":"are-you-shutting-down-tonight-you-should-if","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myfinancialfocus.net\/mainsite\/index.php\/are-you-shutting-down-tonight-you-should-if\/","title":{"rendered":"Are You Shutting Down Tonight &#8211; You Should If&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Are you tired of all the political posturing in Washington? \u00a0This is CRAZY! \u00a0These people up there have no financial leadership whatsoever. \u00a0They do not realize that you CANNOT borrow yourself out of a financial mess. \u00a0Tough decisions have to be made AND SOON!<\/p>\n<p>Washington has 1) lived without a budget for almost six years now and 2) could not follow one if they had to. \u00a0Tough decisions have to be made to live on a plan. \u00a0No one in Washington is willing to make those decisions.<\/p>\n<p>But what about you? \u00a0Tonight is also the end of this current month for you. \u00a0Is your budget in place for next month? \u00a0Will you be ready to manage to your plan at midnight? \u00a0You should be OR you should have your own shutdown in place.<\/p>\n<p>Your plan should require that ONLY the essentials get paid &#8211; mortgage, utilities, insurance, et al. \u00a0Everything else should wait &#8211; including food! \u00a0What your food? \u00a0Yes, your food. \u00a0In fact, as you then start to get hungry maybe you will finalize that plan to live on for next month.<\/p>\n<p>I know it should stupid because it is, but you have options!. Forget your favorite show tonight or what might be happening on Facebook. \u00a0Get your plan built, together, or lay out plans for your shutdown.<\/p>\n<p>I heard our Treasury Secretary say last week, regarding another financial crisis on the horizon, that without the increase in the debt ceiling by mid-October, &#8221; the US government would not have the ability to BORROW money TO PAY its bills&#8221;. \u00a0We are borrowing to pay bills! \u00a0How does that work at your house?
