I share the story often of how I finally decided to open my own business – Financial Focus. For years I had wanted to start something I could call my own, but I way to much to do that. I had a wife, three children, a mortgage and a HUGE amount of debt that would put anything like starting a new business too risky. There was no way that I could survive and meet all our obligations and not put my family at risk.
The dream never was a big dream because the dream was always overshadowed by the finances – the DEBT! We were hamstrung! Something had stole my dream. We were living for that day and not thinking of the future. Poor financial decisions, leading to debt, stole my dream.
When I started to look at the mountain, it seemed that we could never overcome it. Thankfully there was a way and we set out to accomplish the task in front of us. It was not easy, but we knew we could do it.
One step at a time, we climbed out. Then one day my wife and I were participating in a game show at our church. When the host learned that I had this dream, he whispered to me, “what are you waiting for?” It was that night that I learned, now being debt free, I could have my dream back!
Here is what is sad, I am sharing my story and you have one just like it.
What has stolen your dream? What are you doing to get it back?
