If you are like most people, you are likely writing fewer checks these days. With debit cards and online bill pay, your need to write checks has significantly diminished. But, you still find yourself writing checks and, since you have to write the, you have to have them. What did it cost you the last time you purchased checks?
This past week, a client shared with me what they had paid for their recent order of checks. It blew me away! Unbelievable what the check printers are charging for checks – when you go through your bank!
There is another way. There are multiple places on the internet that will offer printed checks that your bank will honor. There is no market block on checks – you can order them elsewhere. I cannot remember the last time I ordered checks from my bank, but a good guess would be over 10 years ago.
Where are some of the places you can order from? Glad you asked:
- Walmart (YES!, Walmart!)
- Costco (not sure if a membership is required or not, but Executive members save more!)
- Vistaprint
- Checks In The Mail
- ChecksUnlimited
- ChecksConnect
- and more, and more and more!
You can save money by ordering your checks online. Make sure that the supplier will honor your checks if, in the very remote chance, your bank has trouble accepting them (technically).
I have listed several places here. Reply to this post with places that you would encourage others to try.
